What is Church Membership?
Belonging to a local church is an essential part of Christian living. God has called His people to be "knit together in love," and this most tangibly takes places in the context of church fellowship (Col. 2:2). Church membership is not a way to decide who is, or is not, a Christian. Simply put, church membership is about professing one's commitment to their local church. Membership finds its precedence throughout the New Testament (Acts 20:28-30; Heb. 13:17; 1 Tim. 5:3-16).
